DIY: Customizing a Jean Jacket

Greetings, friends!

Y’all already know I love a good jean jacket (as referenced here and here). After a lengthy search, I found this vintage beauty at my favorite antique store here in Nashville a few months ago. While I love it as-is, all along I mainly had the intention of “repurposing” it to make it my own.

Over the years, I’ve amassed a collection of vintage patches and pins – most of which also came from thrift or antique stores. I really just look for anything cheeky, colorful or fun. You never know when you might need to add a little pizazz to a piece you already own!

While researching how to affix a patch to denim, I stumbled on a YouTube tutorial by Daily Disco, an online retailer with the most amazing assortment of patches, pins and custom jackets… so many cute things – definitely check them out!

Their tutorial was so simple – all I needed was my sewing kit which, in my opinion, everyone should own! I have a few more that I plan to add soon, but I’m digging how it looks so far.
