My mom got me this cute blazer for Christmas and I absolutely love it. I wore it several times in Paris, to a baby shower, to work… it’s so versatile! For today’s post, I thought it would be cool to give y’all an idea of how to get more “bang for your buck” with staple items like this. Personally, I love the juxtaposition of something that was created to be more formal or dressy paired with something fun and quirky that reflects your interests and personality. In this particular case, a band tee. Mixing it up is a great way to get more use out of the pieces in your closet.
First things first: the blazer. This is the Schoolboy Blazer from J. Crew Factory in camel. The quality is great and I am loving the gold buttons and pinstripe lining. I have a size 6 and I’d say it fits perfectly – definitely true to size!
I paired the blazer with some high-waisted, cropped denim and a vintage-style band tee. My exact shirt is sold out, but here is a very similar option (currently 50% off). I accessorized with a leopard belt, some basic black pumps and the clutch insert from my LV Neverfull. This would be a fun look if you work somewhere that has a little more of a laid back dress code. It would also be great for brunch, a happy hour or date night.
What do you think about mixing casual and dressy? Do you seek out wardrobe items that can be worn for a variety of occasions? What are your favorite closet staple pieces? Let me know in the comments and as always, many thanks for
