Happy 2019!

I’m a day late and a dollar short because yesterday was a full day of travel from Paris back to Nashville. Hope everyone had a great NYE – we rang in 2019 at the world famous Moulin Rouge and it was incredible – if you’re ever in Paris you need to make time to attend a show!

I’ll be sharing a full recap of our trip very soon but for now, I thought it would be fun to share a few resolutions that I’ve set for myself in the new year.

When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, I have evolved in my thinking over the years. I like to set goals that will better me as an individual and that are actually attainable. I’m talking embracing new routines, learning new skills, etc. For example, instead of saying, “This year, I’m going to lose 10 pounds,” I am instead setting a goal that I can actively work towards and hold myself accountable for. Which brings me to my first resolution: in 2019 my goal is to exercise at least 4 days of every single week. I definitely fell off the (consistent) fitness wagon the second half of this year and getting back into a routine has always been something I struggle with. My approach is going to involve mixing things up – cardio and barre are always my go-to’s, but I’m also going to incorporate more yoga and meditation, as well as trying some fun group fitness classes like cycling, pilates, etc.

Dan and I are also going to be training for… drumroll please… a half marathon! It’s a bucket list item that I’ve always wanted to check off and with this being a milestone birthday year for both of us (30), we figured there’s no time like the present!

Another resolution that I’m taking v seriously is right in front your eyes – bushel + peck! Since staring this blog last spring, I have learned so much about building my personal brand and the type of content that I love to create. My goal this year is to keep the momentum going and work with even more of the brands that I know and trust, while sharing it all with you. I also want to dive more into the look and feel of my blog, enhancing SEO, building a strong content calendar and all of that other fun “behind the scenes” stuff. Stay tuned! I am so so thankful to each and every one of you who follows along with this humble little adventure. It truly means more than you know!

So I hope each and every one of you has an absolutely amazing 2019. What are you resolutions (or just personal goals) for the new year? Let me know in the comments below.

Cheers to 2019,

  1. I’m not big on resolutions either but I took the new year as an occasion to finally read Girl Wash Your Face and I’m already hooked after just the intro!

    1. That book has been on my list for a long time now – I need to bite the bullet and give it a read! Have heard nothing but amazing things. Hope you and the fam had a wonderful holiday season!
