#GivingTuesday: Gift Ideas that Give Back

Happy Giving Tuesday!

I thought today would be the perfect opportunity to share my first gift guide of the holiday season! And what better way to kick off the season of giving, than by sharing a few items that give back to some amazing causes.

Let’s get started, shall we?

1 – Wellington Toffee

This is a brand that I’ve shared with you on Instagram many times before, and for good reason – it is THE most delicious toffee you’ll ever eat! Based in Blue Grass, Iowa, Wellington Toffee is a small e-commerce operation that uses proceeds from sales to pour resources into developing communities both domestic and abroad. The owners, Kevin and Stanley, have built close relationships with various non-profit organizations and last year alone donated $25,000  to provide educational opportunities for at-risk youth, create new businesses and job opportunities, build community infrastructure, and more. Did I mention the toffee is amazing?? For a limited time, use code GIVEBACK to receive 20% off one pound of the toffee of your choice. Prices range from $5-$15.

2 – MAC VIVA GLAM Lipstick

The MAC AIDS Fund was created in 1994 to raise awareness and funds to support the HIV/AIDS Crisis. Every cent of the VIVA GLAM collection goes toward the Fund. And there are five beautiful shades to choose from. So you can look good and feel good about helping others with your purchase! $18.50 each

3 – S’well Water Bottles

I love S’well bottles, and not just because they’re pretty and can keep your drink hot or cold for hours. The company was started with a mission to rid the world of plastic bottles – specifically, they aim to displace 1 million bottles by 2020. Not to mention, they also support organizations like UNICEF, (RED), and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through sales of their bottles, tumblers, and accessories. Psst – you can also personalize a bottle for someone! Prices vary – $25-$100.

4 – Rothy’s

Rothy’s is a newer brand, also on a mission to reduce the amount of plastic water bottle waste in the world. They make beautiful, unique (and comfy!) flats that are made solely from polyester fibers sourced from 100% recycled bottles. They come in a ton of fun colors, patterns, and styles – ranging from pointed-toe flats to loafers, to their new sneaker line. They offer styles for women and girls too, if you have any younger ladies on your gift list! My friend Hannah actually introduced me to Rothy’s, and I’m planning to purchase a pair for walking around Paris in a few weeks. She was also sweet enough to share a sign-up link with me that I am now passing along to you. Enter your email here and you’ll receive $20 off your first order (thanks, Hannah!!). Prices start at $65.

5 – Noonday Collection

I was introduced to Noonday Collection a couple of years ago and I absolutely love their mission to build a world where women are empowered, children are cherished, people have jobs and are connected. Noonday partners with artisan businesses around the world to create employment opportunities for women. By creating these opportunities, families are strengthened, lessening the chance for children to be orphaned or abandoned due to poverty. And through their ambassador program, women are given the opportunity to connect with others and run their own businesses that support Noonday’s mission. Each item sold is handmade from items specific to each location, including hand-cut leather, textiles, brass, and much more. If you’re looking for a unique piece that will help provide real opportunities for women and children across the world, I highly encourage you to look into Noonday Collection! Prices vary – you can also search for your local ambassador on the website!

6 – ONEHOPE Wine

ONEHOPE is a California-based retailer of wine, coffee, and other food and gift items, with a mission to raise awareness for and lend support to a wide array of non-profit causes across the country. Each type of wine serves a different mission – so for example, “Pinot for Paws” is a Pinot Noir that supports animal welfare. There is also a Rosé in support of child welfare, a Chardonnay that supports women, a Merlot that supports global causes, and so on and so forth. As a wine lover, I think this is SUCH a great idea! One of my favorite ONEHOPE offerings would have to be their curated gift crates. You can find something for everyone on your list – from engaged friends to new parents, to the animal-lovers in your life! These would all make great holiday or hostess gifts so definitely check them out! Prices vary.

At the end of the day, the whole reason for the season is to show the ones you hold near and dear how much they mean to you. If you can pull double duty and send gifts that also help support other people in need – well that’s just a no-brainer! I hope this guide has been helpful as you source your holiday gifts. Let me know in the comments if there are any other companies you like to support that give back to the community and as always, thanks so much for following along!

Cheers,

E
