Friday Five: 1 Sweater, 5 Ways

Happy Friday,

Whew! Lots to be thankful for this week – the past few days have been super busy, but all full of fun things. We’re packing up later and heading to the Clemson game this weekend and I am SO excited. Also, there was a slight chill in the air yesterday and today and that always puts a little pep in my step (I love to be cold). Bring on sweater weather!

Which brings me to the topic of today’s post…

I’ve mentioned this before, but one of my favorite ways to create new outfits is to take pieces I have on-hand and carve out some time to style them in a number of different ways for a number of different scenarios. The same rule applies when I’m shopping for items for a new season – currently, I’m looking for pieces that are versatile enough to carry me through winter (and even into the spring!).

TULA Boutique is an online shop that I recently discovered and they have a great variety of wardrobe staples. Their M.O. is to provide easy, chic, and on-trend clothing for women on the go and they do it well! For today’s Friday Five, I wanted to challenge myself to style this cute sweater that I recently purchased from TULA five different ways. Let’s dive right in!

One thing I really love about this slouchy style is that you can wear it during seasonal transitions. As you know, we also vacation in Northern Michigan during the summer and the evenings can get chilly. This is the perfect sweater to throw on over some denim shorts and a bathing suit top to wear for a boat ride, or at a bonfire. My sandals were an Amazon Prime Day deal. These sunnies are a recent purchase from the Real Real and I LOVE them for fall! Shorts are from Old Navy.

I’m “one of those people” who isn’t opposed to wearing white after Labor Day. There, I said it. I love the way this look came together. You could also opt for distressed black skinnies for a casual night out. My boots are by Marc Fisher and I got them at DSW last year – found a few color options and sizes here! Jeans are from Old Navy.

Weekend errands? I’ve got you. What I love about this sweater is that it can be tied, tucked, and even worn open as a slouchy cardigan! Again, versatility is key. It’s perfect to throw on over a basic tee and run out the door. I love a good statement sneaker – these are old by DV – I lucked out and found them on Rue La La. Here is a similar option!

We’ve got a few flights booked in the not-so-distant future, and I have a feeling this airport-friendly look is going to be on repeat! I don’t know about you, but I want to be as comfortable as possible when traveling (especially flying), while still looking put together. This combo fits the bill. I paired the sweater with faux leather leggings, some fun gold sneaks, and the BEST travel tote by Longchamp that I got during the NSale last year.

And finally, I was even able to dress this bad boy up for a look that would be perfect to take you from work to happy hour! If you haven’t heard about these pull-on trousers yet, you need to get acquainted, stat. They come in a ton of colors and they will. not. wrinkle. Perfect for travel! My pumps are from a retailer that might surprise you… I don’t wear heels too often, so comfort is key. And I can wear these all day. Finish the ensemble with a statement necklace and a clutch, and you’re good to go!

I’d love to make this type of post a regular thing! I think we all tend to get bored with what we’ve got hanging out in our closets… but there really are a ton of possibilities if you just get a little creative. I do highly encourage you to check out TULA Boutique if you’re in the market for some cute and comfy basics this fall and winter. I’ll be sharing more items soon. Otherwise, I hope everyone has a happy weekend!

Cheers,

E
