New in Nashville: 6 Month Update

I am finding this hard to believe, but over last weekend we hit the half-a-year mark of becoming Nashville residents. Time flies when you’re having fun, and we’ve had a TON of fun getting to know this city.

Dan is thriving in his new role, Babs is living her very best life (per usual), and I have been fortunate enough to land a few great gigs – both freelance and part-time. I have also made huge strides in growing this blog into the platform that I want it to be, and I am so thankful for all of the love I’ve gotten along the way. Nashville is this really amazing, bustling hub of activity and one thing that has continuously moved and inspired me is how so many “creatives” band together to help and support one another. I’ve been fortunate to build a great network with other local bloggers, artists, photographers, and foodies and it’s done my creative brain a whole lot of good.

One such individual is Lindsey of Lucid Linds Photography & Creative. I got the chance to work with her on a shoot not long ago and had a blast. She has been a really amazing and inspiring person to get to know, and I’m so excited to partner with her in the future! She captured the following images that day…

I guess I always grew up thinking that there is a specific route most people take in life – go to school, graduate, get a job, get married, build a life together, have kids (if you want), buy a house, etc. That is certainly not the case, and given all of the change and ups and downs of the last year and a half, I quickly came to understand that in order for me to feel happy and truly fulfilled I need to forge my own path and create something that I’m proud of. It’s a comforting realization, and I couldn’t do it without the love and support of my family and friends – old and new – along the way.

Anyway, getting off my emotional soapbox now. I’m thankful for this tiny corner of the internet where I can share life updates, ideas and inspiration with you and I sincerely hope you’ve enjoyed following along so far. Here’s to whatever comes next!
