Happy Friday, friends!
I’m so excited to kick off a new weekly series called Friday Five, where I’ll be rounding up a few of my favorite things – be they products I’m loving at the moment, quick and easy recipes, books I’ve read and enjoyed, and much more.
We are flying to Detroit in a few hours to spend the weekend with Dan’s family, so I thought it only fitting to share five of my favorite travel-friendly beauty products with you!
These are my go-to essentials when I’m packing for any trip, and here’s why:
I don’t know about you, but the slightest bit of fatigue or dehydration ALWAYS shows in my under-eye area first. I love this version by Grace and Stella – the box says “an energy drink for your eyes,” and that couldn’t be more true. I usually throw on a set once we get to our destination when I’ve got about 20-30 minutes to kill. When you’re done, you can just rub in any residue that’s left and go about your day/evening!
I first started using these Mario Badescu facial sprays when we lived in Chicago. The winter weather would dry out my skin so badly so I always had one in my purse, my desk drawer at work – basically they were stashed everywhere I went! There is also a cucumber “flavor” that is excellent for summer because it has a cooling effect. Can’t recommend these enough – you can find them at Ulta and Anthropologie!
This is my ride-or-die product! It’s no secret that coconut oil is extremely versatile, and I’ve used this Kopari oil as a moisturizer on my skin, frizz-tamer for my hair, and even as a shaving cream. Plus, it’s all natural and smells amazing!
I usually wash my hair 2-3 times a week, but between washes I use this dry shampoo to keep my locks fresh. I love the Batiste brand – they even have a ton of different scents to choose from and even a version for brunettes so you can’t see the product once it’s sprayed on. I get my travel sizes at Ulta but some drugstores also carry them!
You might be wondering why I consider this a beauty product, but have you ever tried to go on a trip while you’re feeling under the weather? Not cute. I also can’t be the only one who gets a little skeeved out by airplanes and recycled air.. I honestly have an Emergen-C before every flight I take, and maybe it’s mostly mental but I swear it makes me feel better and more energized for my trip! You can find these at virtually any grocery store or drug store – I also love the version with melatonin to help you catch some Z’s.
