New in Nashville: Our Experience So Far

It’s hard to believe, but we’re coming up on the two-week mark of being Nashville residents. They say time flies when you’re having fun, and so far we are having a blast exploring our new city! We’re fortunate to have family and friends who have lived here for several years and have even had the pleasure of having a close friend from out-of-town visit already. Most of our explorations have been food and beverage-driven (shocker), but this weekend the goal is to explore a few neighborhoods and try to determine where we’re interested in living long-term.

Right now, we’re in a temporary corporate apartment in The Gulch. It’s a really fun, bustling area to be in – lots of great restaurants, bars, coffee shops and retailers. The moving company is storing our belongings until we find a new place which, by the way, has to happen before the end of this month (eek!). Our plan is to rent for the first year-ish and then start the process of buying a home. Exciting stuff!

If you’re following along with me on Instagram, you saw that we took full advantage of the glorious weather yesterday by paying a visit to Yazoo Brewing Company, which is just a stone’s throw from our apartment. If you’re ever visiting Nashville, you should stop by – it’s a fun spot and perfect for large groups too!

After a winter that seemed/seems to take forever to end, I am beyond ready for warmer weather! Given the temperature yesterday, I was ecstatic to finally pull this cute top by Free People out of my closet and wear it for the first time. It is such a soft, flowy tee and I am in love with the color, cutouts, and tie detailing on the sleeves.

I paired it with high-rise flared denim, heeled booties, statement earrings and a lace bralette. I feel like you could definitely wear this in a more conservative setting too – just layer over a basic cami. Heads up – the top comes in a few cute floral patterns as well! I also purchased this color and fully intend to wear it to Clemson games this fall (listed as “bright red” but it’s actually more orange).

My jeans and booties are older, but I’ve linked some really similar options below. My earrings are Sugarfix by Baublebar (available at Target).

Jeans: Gap | Earrings: Sugarfix by Baublebar | Booties: 6pm

If you’re familiar with the Nashville area, I’d love to hear from you! Recommendations for fun things to do, places to eat, etc.? Send them my way!

We’re still getting our bearings but I have a feeling that we’re really going to love it here. Thanks for following along – I can’t wait to share more with y’all soon!
