Hello! My name is Erin Gabriel, and let me be the first to welcome you to bushel+peck. This humble little blog is somewhat of a passion project for me. I have always loved to write and am the kind of person who needs a creative outlet in order to function like a normal human being. After a truly character-building year, I have never felt more ready or inspired and I am so excited to start sharing with you!
To give you just a little background, I am a South Carolina native and attended Clemson University (go Tigers!) where I met my wonderful husband, Dan. We have been together for the better part of a decade and he is the best. We got married in June 2016 and in September 2017, we added a new member to the family – Barbara Bush Gabriel. She is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and to call her a spitfire is an understatement. These two are my daily cheerleaders and they’ll be regularly guest starring in many of my posts.
Like virtually every other blogger out there, my goal is to use this platform to share the styles, products and places that I love. But I also want this to be a collaborative effort with you, the reader. I can’t encourage you enough to leave comments or questions, feel free to email or DM me on Instagram, send a carrier pigeon, etc. I promise to do my very best to respond to any and all feedback. I think it’s important that we inspire each other and the only way to do that is to have an open line of communication! Hands down one of the things I’m most looking forward to with this new venture is building a network of readers and hopefully becoming a source that you can trust for ideas and inspiration.
So to kick things off, I think I should first let you know that we will only be Houston residents for a few more days. That’s right, we’re moving… again! For those close to us, you know that we left Chicago last March to move to Houston and we lived here for just one year. This was all for Dan’s job and we always knew our time in Texas would be brief. In the new year, we learned that our next destination will be Nashville and we are getting really excited about this new chapter of life.
Early next week, we will be hitting the road and making some fun stops along the way – all of which I intend to share with you guys. Stay tuned!
And finally… for those of you who encouraged me to stop chickening out already and finally get this thing off the ground – you know who you are and I thank you.
